Police report strongly suggests Lori Hohenleitner was caught trying to hide behind the scenes in an action designed to go after a former AH Mayor who disagreed with her.

Was she using her position to go after those who disagreed with her again?

The question here is why Hohenleitner seems to be targeting a person she doesn’t agree with. The second paragraph of the police report below is very telling.  Hohenleitner, a self-proclaimed “proud progressive”, appears to be using her position to cause trouble for a former mayor.

In the second paragraph of page three of the report below, the officer taking the call notes that an individual was contacted by Lori Hohenleitner via Facebook and talked about our former mayor, Fred Rast.  Rast was concerned about property damage during one of the protests in town that she was involved in. As then owner of the AH theatre, Rast was worried about damage to the 100-year-old building that has been a iconic landmark in town.  The report also goes on to say that Hohenleitner told the individual that Mr Rast had a private security business and may own weapons, apparently creating a concern for that person’s safety.

Why would Hohenleitner contact anyone with such a story? As an elected official, she could have handled it internally without escalating it to a point where someone felt they were in enough danger to call the police on a very respected former mayor. Did she go after him because he had different views?  Those who have lived in AH for any length of time know he clearly isn’t a danger to anyone.  Was it because this highly respected, former two term mayor, retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and former police officer represented something she didn't like? Was she manipulating the system to keep herself out of view and behind the scenes, not realizing she would be mentioned in the report?

Does she treat certain residents differently because of their viewpoints? How far is she willing to go? Is this the kind of person that will unite our town or will she continue dividing us if she's elected mayor?

Also, during the protest an Atlantic Highlands resident was assaulted as noted in the police report.  Luckily there were no children walking home from school or elderly caught in the action. This calls into question her judgment as an elected official. Peaceful protests are constitutionally protected, and we had peaceful events in town that many of us participated in, but instigating actions against specific residents is divisive and abhorrent.

The complete report is below so you can read it for yourself. It's easy enough to tell where she is referenced as the initials of her first and last name are noted where she is mentioned.
